Widow Overjoyed as Dr. Uloma Builds Three-Bedroom Home in Eziala Ogwu Ngurunwekwo
It was a moment of overwhelming joy in Eziala Ogwu Ngurunwekwo Autonomous Community, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, as a three-bedroom house built for a widow, Mrs. Immaculata Ekechukwu, was officially commissioned. The project, undertaken by Dr. Uloma Anozie, was inaugurated by the parish priest of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Joe Egubule. Mrs. Ekechukwu, who had endured years of hardship and homelessness following the death of her husband, could not hold back her tears of gratitude as she received the keys to her new home. Having moved from one house to another in the village, she expressed deep appreciation for the life-changing gesture. Her journey to homeownership began when she approached the women’s cooperative in the community for a loan.
During her request, Mrs. Ejimudo Nwachukwuagbada and Mrs. Veronica Nwachukwu Udoaku inquired about her situation. Upon learning of her struggles, they decided to seek help on her behalf. Their appeal reached Dr. Uloma, who was in the village for the Christmas holiday. Moved by the widow’s plight, Dr. Uloma immediately took action and, in a record time of one month, completed the construction of the house. Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mrs. Ekechukwu recounted her past struggles, recalling the uncertainty of not knowing where she would sleep each night. Overcome with gratitude, she described Dr. Uloma Anozie as "an angel in human form." For Mrs. Ejimudo Nwachukwuagbada and Mrs. Veronica Nwachukwu Udoaku, Dr. Uloma’s kindness is not new, as she has been a consistent pillar of support for the less privileged in the community. "She is the Mother Teresa of our time. She always thinks of how to help the less fortunate," they remarked.
Similarly, Mr. Kenneth Nwachukwu Udoaku urged the widow and her family to make good use of the opportunity presented by their new home to rebuild their lives. The commissioning ceremony turned into a celebration of goodwill, as members of the community, including her relatives from Enyiogugu, gathered to rejoice over the transformation in the widow’s life, acknowledging it as a testament to the power of generosity and compassion.
